Study on the Effect of Pulse Waveform Parameters on Droplet Transition, Dynamic Behavior of Weld Pool, and Weld Microstructure in P-GMAW

The heating and impact of arc droplet acting on the weld pool lead to transfer mass, heat, momentum, which affects dynamic behavior microstructure in P-GMAW process. In this paper, an image processing program is used extract characteristics transition high-speed photography. influence current waveform pressure quantitatively analyzed with different parameters. under conditions are further studied. internal relation parameters was expounded. results show that positively correlated pulse peak current. rectangular wave has a more significant than exponential same enhances convective intensity pool. It slows down cooling rate solidified below tail pool, increasing grain size microstructure.
